Once again, it’s time to revisit my wish list. I’ve bought some pens, decided against others, and found new pens I want.
I’ve kept the two-tier list structure: “Tier One” that I’m actively looking to acquire, and “Tier Two” that I’d pick up if there’s a good deal, or if the stars align perfectly.
Updates
Updates to last year’s list first. If you don’t care about updates, feel free to jump down to my current list. For those pens still on my list, I’ll share more about them on my current list.
18111 Pens
I didn’t get to these. And, unfortunately, Mr. Nakama seems to be making less pens recently. I need to get the two I still want before I can’t.
Atelier Lusso
I didn’t manage to snag an abalone pen last year. Maybe this year.
Benu
I picked up several Talismans — the Wild Rose, Shooting Star, Four Leaf Clover, and the Ice and Snow — but didn’t get the Ambrosia series pens. They’ve now fallen to tier 2.
Cypress
Well, I did get a raden & eggshell pen, just not the one I’d planned on. I can see myself getting something like the one I originally wanted, too.
Flower Girl Blanks
Rather than getting a pen made from a Flower Girl Blanks material, I’ve commissioned a very special pen from Analog Notes. I’ll share it as soon as it’s done.
Gravitas Pens
I couldn’t get one of the first rainbow glitter pens given Athena’s treatment costs.
Hardy Penwrights
I’ve gone almost two years without getting around to researching my idea of a Dutch pen. I think that says a lot. While I’m not completely writing it off, I’m shelving the idea for now.
Hooligan Pens
I didn’t get to this one — a winter-themed pen — either. I did get the winter-themed Benu, so maybe I can get a custom housing for it. No slight to Mr. Cullen, this slot was about a winter-themed pen for my PenBBS snowflake nib.
Iron Feather Creative
I got another two of Brian’s pens last year — that’s 5 now. And, work has started on my Mayan pen — yay!! — so I suppose that means it’s no longer on my wish list. I can’t wait until it’s in my hands.
Loft Pens
I didn’t get to the stacked pen commission. Perhaps this year.
Pilot
I’m on the fence about getting any more Custom 74s. I love the nibs, but I already have 3. In regards to the Falcon, I want to sell the customized one and get the brown, metal-bodied one.
Rockster Pens
Another pen I didn’t get to last year. I’ll likely need to commission a pen to get a perfect material mix that I’ll be happy to own for a long time.
Stanford Wood Studio
I certainly crossed this one off my list, didn’t I?
Tamenuri Studio
While the stars didn’t align last year, if Michal posts a pen I really like when I have money available, I’ll likely buy it.
So that’s my update on last year’s list. Now for my current wish list.
Wish List 2023
Tier One
18111 Pens
I’ll be actively keeping an eye out for both a snowflake pen and a sakura blossom pen.

Atelier Lusso
Every time I see one of Eric’s abalone pens, I want one more. So I’m going to try to snag one this year.

Country Made Pens
I’ve been eyeing Troy’s 3D engraved sleeve pen, but I’d prefer a different color base. I want to commission one, but I keep not having the money. I’m going to actively save for it this year.

Gravitas Pens
Ben has said there will be another release of the black, rainbow sparkle finish pens — I think he’s calling it “Universe” — in January. Thanks to some saved Christmas money from my cousin, I should be able to get one from that release.

Pens by Pasquale
When Gourmet Pens (Azizah) shared her cool “ribbon” pen, I went straight over to Nicholas’ page. I’d really like one of these. It’s very interesting.

Tier Two
Benu
I still think the Ambrosia collection — specifically the Persian Shield and Blue Lotus — is really pretty. But, I’m not positive it can compete with the hand-painted pens, and I don’t want to buy something that I’ll likely sell later.

Cypress
I’m hoping to get the pen featured in the second image of this Instagram post.

Loft Pens
I still plan to commission a second stacked pen from them.

Pilot
If I can sell my customized Elabo, I’ll get the brown, metal-bodied Falcon.
Rockster Pens
I’d still like to get one of Rockster Pens’ mixed materials pens.

Tamenuri Studio
I’d love to get more of Michal’s pens. They’re so pretty, and so well done. It’s just going to be difficult to make sure I have money when a pen I want is available.

What do you think of the update’s to last year’s list? Are any of these pens on your wishlist? Is there anything on yours that you think I should know about? Let me know in the comments.
Make sure to subscribe to my blog or follow me on Instagram so you don’t miss any posts. I generally post at least once a week.
Atelier Lusso is at the top of my wish list!
There is a European alternative for Tamenuri Studio if you like non-Japanese urushi pens 😉
Don’t worry, I’ve been keeping an eye on your work, too. 😀
