I typically share my pen show haul after each show I attend. I see no reason to diverge from that for this show. However, be prepared, because my haul is not pen heavy this time. Shocking, I know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s start with the pens, shall we?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Tailored Pen Company<\/h2>\n\n\n

I’ve wanted a pen with this kind of flower-based material since I first saw one. When I saw four at Tailored Pen Company’s table, the only question was which would come home with me. I made that oh-so-important decision based on the variety of flowers and colors. The one I picked had the most. I’ll share a pen porn post soon so you can see the full glory of the material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also picked up this fun pen rest. Do I need it? No, I never use pen rests. But it goes with my wildflower pen.<\/p>\n\n\n

Luxury Brands of America<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After determining that I would be happy with just the one fountain pen, I picked up this fun Retro 51 Tornado rollerball exclusive from Luxury Brands of America<\/a>. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the Rainforest Trust. To be honest, though, what really<\/em> sold me was the tree frog finial.<\/p>\n\n\n

Curnow Bookbinding & Leather<\/h2>\n\n\n

I’m a sucker for beautiful notebooks. Luckily for me, most of them have paper I don’t like. However, at the entrance to the STL show, Curnow Bookbinding & Leather<\/a> had two tables full of beautiful notebooks with white \u2014 white, not cream, hallelujah! \u2014 fountain pen friendly paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m not 100% certain where the paper falls in comparison to my current champion, Rhodia Goalbooks. But, I picked up two despite having just started a new notebook. I currently have a massive backlog of content, but keep an eye out for a comparison between Curnow and Rhodia.<\/p>\n\n\n

This really is stunning paper<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I hardly ever write letters \u2014 usually because I know I won’t get one in return \u2014 but this paper was just too pretty to skip. And there were matching envelopes! If you’re interested, they are by Midori, and available on the St. Louis Art Supply website<\/a>: paper<\/a> | envelopes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Lincoln’s Leathers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been looking for a new notebook cover for a while. While I really like the one I have now<\/a>, I’ve wanted one with a smaller footprint. Lincoln’s Leathers<\/a> had a beautiful display of leather covers. They let me test one on my Rhodia to make sure it fit. While snug, it was able to fit the cover. And, of course, being leather, it will stretch. Plus, it has that fabulous leather smell.<\/p>\n\n\n

Country Made Pens<\/h2>\n\n\n

It was lovely to meet Troy in person. While I didn’t have the budget to pick up a pen from him, I enjoyed ogling his work. While the Country Made Pens<\/a> pen I own has gorgeous engraving, he’s only improved since then. I did get a beautiful keychain as part of a present for my dad. Hopefully he doesn’t see this blog post.<\/p>\n\n\n

Inky Converters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And last, but definitely not least, I let myself go crazy at the Inky Converters<\/a> table. Fountain pen washi tape is so hard to find. I had to get what she had. Plus, she had some amazing stickers. Too bad she didn’t have a bisexual sticker left \u2014 I’m just assuming she has one. But the pansexual sticker was good, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find \u2014 and didn’t take \u2014 a photo of Angela’s table at the St. Louis Pen Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, yeah, a fairly unusual haul for me, but I’m happy I didn’t fall into the “I’m at a pen show, so I must buy stuff,” trap. I also didn’t overspend. So, go me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
