Before I get started, I need to say that this isn’t my pen. I’m borrowing it from Jim because it deserves a pen porn post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’d wanted one of these “sea urchin” pens since Stanford Pen Studio first posted one<\/a>. These dotted pens are painted by Di herself<\/a>. Jim just happened to be lucky enough to scoop this one up when it posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, onto the photos!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The color scheme is lovely: yellow, mauve, and burnt orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We didn’t discover that some of the paint is sparkly until I photographed the pen for this post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love the gentle gradient from bright yellow to nearly white on the larger dots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And \u2014 I’m not sure if this was intentional \u2014 the bright dots near the center seem to be a bit translucent, giving them a greenish halo with the black background showing through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like with all Stanford Pen Studio pens, it has the pretty grown finial coin and the SPS and crown logo on the nib.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last but not least, it came with this beautifully coordinating pen sleeve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
