Below you&#8217;ll find the inks for days 1-4. If you have a suggestion for a possible dupe for any of these inks, let me know in the comments, and I&#8217;ll add it to the wrap up post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some info:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can click the images to view them larger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I swatched each ink with a small (#2) paintbrush and wrote with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Zebra-Comic-Model-Chrome-PG-6B-C-K\/dp\/B078W9NCF2\">Zebra G dip nib<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Behind-the-scenes: I included more than just my final swatches for each ink. Preliminary swatches are on Iroful A5 dot grid paper. I&#8217;ve found that inks can look VERY different on this paper. I swatched the top matches on Franklin-Christoph sugar cane paper (from a leftover Firma-Flex notebook) and Kokuyo 5mm grid Sarasara loose-leaf paper. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While I try to edit the images so they look as close to real life as possible, I can&#8217;t guarantee that the color you see on your screen will be true to life. However, with all the dupes on the same page, you&#8217;ll see how the colors look in relation to each other, which is the main point of these posts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I can&#8217;t fairly call any ink a perfect color match, as I&#8217;m not comparing them scientifically, I&#8217;m just using my eyes. This is Fortunes Gold in my <a href=\"\/blog\/pp-shooting-star\/\">Benu Talisman Shooting Star<\/a> fitted with a #6 Schmidt Fine nib.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Fortunes Gold is a greenish-gold chameleon ink. In case you&#8217;ve forgotten, chameleon inks contain duo- or multichrome shimmer, where it looks different depending on the angle at which you view it. Fortunes Gold shimmer shifts from gold to blue. The duochrome shift is prominent in the swatches, but not in the writing samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kM8bHG09b1Q?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Each paper I swatched the inks on had a different best match:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Iroful: Platinum Classic Citrus Black<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kokuyo: Colorverse Gluon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Franklin-Christoph: Robert Oster Muddy Bucket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top Matches<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The top matches I compared to Fortunes Gold are (swatched left-to-right): Robert Oster Muddy Bucket, Platinum Classic Citrus Black, Sailor Ink Studio 970, Colorverse Gluon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Kokuyo Sarasara paper, Muddy Bucket is a hint too green and shades too dark. Citrus Black isn&#8217;t vibrant enough and also shades too dark. 970 is significantly too green. Aphrodite Pink is too warm. Plumb Nut is <em>very<\/em> close, but perhaps a hint too purple and doesn&#8217;t shade quite so dark. Classic Blue Jeans is the same base hue, although it doesn&#8217;t shade as dark.
