This ink battle is between Colorverse Monkeyhead Nebula and Colorverse Mystic Mountain. In the first battle, both inks are in pens with a medium Jowo nib. In the second, they are in a TWSBI 580 with a fine nib. Both battles are fought on white Rhodia Goalbook paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this particular Ink Battle, I’m comparing two ink samples, trying to decide which to purchase. Monkeyhead Nebula and Mystic Mountain are both desaturated blues with rose gold shimmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, because I’m working from samples for both inks, the shimmer distribution is lacking. It’s nearly impossible to see the shimmer in the first battle, and difficult in the second. But, looking for silver linings, it means I can truly compare the ink colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some reason, while Mystic Mountain photographs fairly true-to-life, Monkeyhead Nebula does not. It shows up much more green in photos than it does on paper. I’ve done my best to edit the photos, but they aren’t perfect, even on my screen. The color comparison at the end of this post is the closest to real life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see, Monkeyhead Nebula is almost identical to Grey Jeans, whereas Mystic Mountain is, at least, a little<\/em> different from the other inks I have in my collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, I think Mystic Mountain is the better choice for me. The color is slightly<\/em> more unique to my collection, and the bottle is smaller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
