An Angel. A Witch. A Demon. And A Choice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Creatures from outer realms suck, as any gatekeeper worth their salt will tell you. Welcome to Rogan\u2019s life, an orphaned seventeen-year-old who lives and trains with other misfits under her uncle\u2019s roof, keeping Earth safe from non-human realm jumpers. Rogan\u2019s biggest issue concerns her uncle\u2019s short leash with her freedom\u2014that is of course, until she\u2019s taken by a notorious witch, and her life begins to unravel. Soon, the supernatural beauty discovers there\u2019s a reason her uncle kept such a tight lock on her whereabouts, and that she has more than angel blood running through her veins.<\/p>\n

Eighteen-year-old Max is an angel, and Rogan\u2019s mentor and guardian. He\u2019s well aware of her tenacious inability to obey orders, though he also knows she\u2019s a fierce fighter. When he\u2019s involved in a scheme that ultimately gets Rogan kidnapped, he must battle his way back to her in an attempt to save her from the darkness threatening to possess her.<\/p>\n

Review<\/h2>\n

I wasn’t in love with\u00a0Wings of Flesh and Bones<\/em>. It’s not a\u00a0bad<\/em> book or story, it just wasn’t to my personal tastes. The reader is teased with little bits and pieces of information throughout the entire book that, rather than make me more interested in finishing the story, annoyed me.<\/p>\n

I also felt as though the story was “quilted” together. As in, bits and pieces of story were sewn together onto a single cohesive arc. It was a bit disjointed at times, and the jumps between locations and people got a bit confusing.<\/p>\n

I also found a handful of errors, although I imagine that’s because the copy I received was an ARC.<\/p>\n

The writing quality was pretty good, and the broader, underlying story arc was interesting. I wish it had been allowed to shine through more. If you don’t mind being teased with information, then I think there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy the book. If that bothers you, like it does me, then this probably isn’t the one for you.<\/p>\n
