Phew, that’s a wrap on the first 24 Days of Dupes! Please let me know in the comments if you’d like to see me match the 2024 Inkvent calendar; it would probably be in late February into March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I mentioned in the opening post<\/a>, Colorverse has no plans to release the full line of Colorvent inks like Diamine does with Inkvent. However, Colorverse does plan to release the “top 3” inks. More on that in a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

General Thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’re familiar with Colorverse inks, you’ll likely understand me when I say that the calendar was very<\/em> Colorverse. The best way I can think of to explain is that the inks are very “solid” \u2014 vibrant and intense \u2014 with some sheen and some of the multishading we’ve seen in more recent inks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wish there had been more variety in both colors and formulas \u2014 see the breakdowns below \u2014 but most of the colors included in the calendar are nice. Despite the lack of variety, the colors included are rather unique. There were eleven inks that I only managed to “almost match” where I found an ink the same hue, but slightly lighter or darker. On top of that there were four inks for which wasn’t even able to find a hue match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assuming Colorverse decides to release future Colorvent calendars, I would like to see more holiday theming. I know space is Colorverse’s thing, but other than the Santa hat the astronaut on the box is wearing, there’s nothing that makes this year’s Colorvent an advent-specific countdown calendar. Given how many inks Colorverse has now that aren’t<\/em> space related, I think they could improve by choosing colors related to end-of-year holidays in various cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the Colorvent Calendar is produced in limited quantities<\/strong>, following a comprehensive analysis of voting data via Google Form and consumer feedback, we will select the top three<\/strong> Colorvent Calendar inks as our most promising candidates for signature bottled inks. These will be released in upsized formats<\/strong> at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Running the Numbers”<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For giggles, I’ve included the numbers for Diamine’s debut Inkvent calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colorverse doesn’t identify the formula of each ink like Diamine does. Butt, there were 4 different formulas: standard, multishading, sheening, and shimmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It would have been nice to see more variety among the formulas. I especially expected more shimmer inks, since Colorverse usually includes a shimmer (AKA glistening) ink in their standard 65ml\/15ml packs. Some more multishaders would have been really nice, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know that the blue family is highly popular among ink users, but this calendar had 11 \u2014 45.83% \u2014 blue, teal, and turquoise inks. Then there were four black and gray inks, leaving just 9 days divided over the other colors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below, you’ll find an easy reference so you don’t have to click through the separate blog posts to find the best match ink names. As there were multiple days with almost matches that were just too light or too dark, I’ll list those italicized. If you want to see the comparison swabs, you can click through to the corresponding post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible<\/em> matches that I didn’t test are provided in a bulleted list under any given ink. They are either ones I saw others mention as similar inks \u2014 in which case I link to the mention \u2014 or inks I couldn’t get a sample of. <\/strong>I’m providing them here for you to consider. Keep in mind, I haven’t compared them to the Colorvent inks, so I don’t know how accurate these are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
