My original thought with this post was to revisit a single tag post<\/a> and answer all of the questions a second time. But, as I looked through the various posts, I realized that many of my answers haven’t changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, instead, I pulled out questions where my answers actually have<\/em> changed from a variety of posts I hope you like this little redux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fountain Pens Tag<\/a> (9\/14\/21)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. What is your newest fountain pen?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Original Answer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of writing (9\/5\/21) my newest pen is the Retro 51 Wings of the Monarch fountain pen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I decided not to get the rollerball version last year, and regretted it. So, when a fountain pen version was released a few days ago<\/a>, I jumped on it. No regrets here. It\u2019s stunning, and I already did a Makeup Monday look<\/a> with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have two newest pens. They arrived on Wednesday (3\/19), and I haven’t even had a chance to take my own pictures yet. So, borrowing from the crowd funding campaign, here are my two Stanford Pen Studio<\/a> Intwana models:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. What is your most colorful fountain pen?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Original Answer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think this one goes to the Herbert Pen Company x Papier Plume New Orleans Tricentennial limited edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was my first truly Indie pen. It was gorgeous, and I managed to get number 19. Now I make sure it\u2019s in use for every Mardi Gras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I almost chose the Retro 51 Calaveritas for this one, but then I remembered that I\u2019m only doing fountain pens. There\u2019s another that could tie for this one, but it\u2019s on here later, so I skipped it for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This has definitely changed. I don’t think it’s possible to get more colorful than my Loft Pens<\/a> Glenwood Stacked Pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlucky 13. Well, this one is 100% impossible for me to answer. I simply don\u2019t have a favorite brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wasn’t able to answer this one last time. However, I think it’s fair to say that Stanford Pen Studio is my favorite brand now. And, my favorite pen, for obvious reasons, is my Bumbledore pen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. What is your most recent pen purchase?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Basing off of when I paid for the purchase, my Stacked Pride pen from Loft Pens<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn’t a repeat! The Intwana pens were a gift from my dad purchased in November. My most recent pen purchase was my vintage Esterbrook LJ Green “Icicle” at BWIPS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. What ink color family do you own the most of?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to Airtable<\/a>, Teal & Turquoise at 36 bottles. But that\u2019s likely due to Jim\u2019s obsession with those colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only counting bottles, Airtable tells me it’s purples at 36, with greens as a close second at 34. I should mention, I count purples and blurples (blue-purples) separately. I also count teal and turquoise separately now; if I didn’t, they’d tie for second with greens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18. What brands have you wanted to try, but haven\u2019t?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve wanted to try a Stanford Wood Studios<\/a> pen as I mentioned in my wish list post<\/a>. Their beaded pens are so cool. I just haven\u2019t gotten to them yet. And Hooligan pens<\/a>, for their mix of materials and engraved metalwork, also mentioned on my wish list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drewnem Pisane<\/a>, but they are on my list for the summer. How early in summer depends on when my current commissions are completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Fave Nib Grind<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As of now, my favorite grind is the cursive italic. I enjoy the crispness, the bit of personality, it gives to my writing. However, I think the oblique may overtake the cursive italic<\/a>. I\u2019ve put it in an \u201calways inked\u201d pen, after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I clearly knew this was coming. I’ve you’ve been here a while, you already know my favorite grind is an italic oblique. So, technically, not a completely different grind than my previous favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Newest Nib In Your Collection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After seeing one on the Goulet Nation Facebook group, I bought a ZT5E from Flexible Nib Factory<\/a>, a TWSBI housing for a Zebra G flex dip nib. I really enjoy the Zebra G, so I look forward to using it. It only arrived a couple of days ago, so I haven\u2019t had a chance to really use it yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wrote this answer with it. My last nib appointment at BWIPS was with Kirk Speer (Pen Realm<\/a>) for an italic oblique. It’s delightful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Are there inks & pens that you have yet to try but would like to?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I would love to try a Platinum Hammered Silver pen because it has a platinum nib, and I haven\u2019t tried one. But, $900+ is too much to just try a nib.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim got me a vintage Platinum Platinum, so I have a platinum nib now. But, to answer the question, I plan to eventually try all of the Colorverse and Wearingeul inks through samples, but I’ve got a long way to go for that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m also interested in trying the Colorverse Shuttle and Tom’s Studio One-Dip-Nib to see how they compare to the Kakimori metal nibs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. How many pens do you currently own?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Well, 163. Of those, 141 are fountain pens and 135 are in active use. The other 6 are decommissioned<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
