I’ve revamped ink dupes<\/a> to bring them back. Where, previously, my ink dupes posts were more like double reviews, going forward they will be about art. I know that isn’t a perfect translation to writing with the ink, but I’m doing my best to include “wet” sections with a lot of ink and “dry” sections with less ink to simulate broader and finer nibs, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have no set schedule for ink dupes, and they won’t replace my ink battles, but they will<\/em> help me get rid of some inks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today’s post features Diamine Amber<\/a> and Stipula Sapphron<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Side note: I’ve seen MANY different listings for the Stipula ink \u2014 Saffron, Saffron Yellow, Calamo Saffron, etc. Calamo is Stipula’s ink line \u2014 like Pilot Iroshizuku \u2014 and Yafa has the color listed as Sapphron<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t realize just how similar these two inks are until I did the below artwork. They are virtually identical, and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Stipula’s inks are made by Diamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As you can see, the two colors are the same. Both Amber and Sapphron shade nicely from a yellow-orange to nearly red at the heaviest ink deposits. Their “main” color, though, is a bright orange. It’s not too vibrant, which is nice. You could easily fill a page without it becoming an eyesore to read.<\/p>\n\n\n
