Below you&#8217;ll find the inks for days 1-4. If you have a suggestion for a possible dupe for any of these inks, let me know in the comments, and I&#8217;ll add it to the wrap up post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details>\n  <summary style=\"cursor: pointer;\">View Reminders<\/summary>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can click the images to view them larger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I swatched each ink with a small (#2) paintbrush and wrote with a F <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetpens.com\/Sailor-Compass-Hocoro-Dip-Pen-White-Fine-Nib\/pd\/40393\">Sailor Compass Hocoro Dip Pen<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The dilution pages show the sheening inks diluted with water in single-part steps. I started with just the ink, then 1:1 ink to water, then 1:2, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While I try to edit the images so they look as close to real life as possible, I can&#8217;t guarantee that the color you see on your screen will be true to life. However, with all the dupes on the same page, you&#8217;ll see how the colors look in relation to each other, which is the main point of these posts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I can&#8217;t fairly call any ink a perfect color match, as I&#8217;m not comparing them scientifically, I&#8217;m just using my eyes. Therefore, I won&#8217;t be going any further than calling an ink a &#8220;near-perfect color match.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I&#8217;m not attempting to dupe the special properties of the inks \u2014 sheen, shimmer, scent \u2014 only the base color.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve included a dupe status this year to show how well I was able to match an ink. The rating scale includes 5 levels: success, successful color match, close, OK, and fail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details>\n  <summary style=\"cursor: pointer;\">View status definitions<\/summary>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Success<\/strong>: all properties are matched including sheen, shimmer, and\/or multishading<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Successful color match<\/strong>: only the color has been matched<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Close<\/strong>: there are noticeable differences in the ink swatches, but the inks would likely be indistinguishable when writing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OK<\/strong>: there are noticeable differences in the ink swatches and writing samples, but the inks are very similar (e.g. they are the same hue, but the match is too light or too dark)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fail<\/strong>: all inks have noticeable differences from the Inkvent ink in the ink swatches and writing samples and have multiple properties that are different<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<p>Enjoy, and happy inking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"keepTogether\">Jump to a day: Celestial Skies | <a href=\"#day2\">\u21e3 Energy<\/a> | <a href=\"#day3\">\u21e3 Carousel<\/a> | <a href=\"#day4\">\u21e3 Smoky Tobacco<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"day1\">Celestial Skies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Classification: Shimmer (Shimmer &amp; Sheen)| Color: Turquoise with pink sheen and gold shimmer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diamine classifies Celestial Skies as shimmer, but there is more than enough sheen (as visible in the swatch image below) to call it shimmer and sheen. The best way to describe Celestial Skies is as Diamine&#8217;s take on the famous J. Herbin Emeraude de Chivor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dupe status: Success<br \/>Closest Match: <\/strong><strong>Vinta Bisperas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I compared Celestial Skies to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ferris Wheel Press Edwards Gardens \u2013 slightly too green<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colorverse Gravity Wave \u2013 slightly too green<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wearingeul Wayfarer \u2013 decent color match in the swatch; writing sample is too light<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Octopus Fluids Dragon \u2013 slightly too green and slightly too dark<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Van Dieman&#8217;s Odysseus \u2013 near-perfect color match; purple shimmer instead of gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vinta Bisperas (Vesper Blue) \u2013 basically a dupe, down to the gold shimmer and pink sheen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colorverse Blue Dragon Glistening Blue \u2013 near-perfect color match; blue shimmer instead of gold \u2014 the glistening gold version would likely be a dupe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>J. This did, however, lighten the color. Unfortunately, the scent of &#8220;smoky tobacco&#8221; is atrocious. Maybe if you&#8217;re a cigar person, you&#8217;d appreciate the scent. I do not.
