This time, I have a somewhat different pen porn post for you. The focus here is the unique shape of the pen, rather than artwork on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the Willow model from Fountain Telling<\/a>, which Kristen debuted at BWIPS this year. According to Jonathon Brooks of Carolina Pen Co \u2014 and Kristen’s dad \u2014 who had Kristen’s pens on his table at BWIPS, I was lucky enough to be the first purchaser of this model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Shape<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first thing about the Willow that caught my eye was the “button” on the cap. My ADHD brain screamed “clicky!” even though I knew<\/strong> that wasn’t the case. It’s a fun little feature to fidge with, though, like a reverse worry stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I picked it up, I noticed the bulb at the end. To keep this PG, let’s call it a scorpion tail. It’s beautifully shaped and polished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the bulb prevents you from posting the cap, in my hand it nestles perfectly between my thumb and index finger. I’d guess that this will be highly specific to individuals based on the size of your hand and where on the section you grip the pen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking (writing) of the section, it has a cute little flare at the end. It’s minor, to the point where you may not even notice it, but it’s there, and it’s well executed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Material<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I don’t have a name for this material; I only know it’s Kristen’s custom pour. I purposely chose this one over one other that called to me a bit more because I didn’t have anything like this in my collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some reason, even though the drink doesn’t have blue in it, this material makes me think of a Peach Bellini. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a fabulous new pen model, and I applaud Kristen for coming up with something fun and unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
