Today the spotlight is on Amy M. Ward, the mother of mother\/daughter young adult writing team, Amy M. Ward and Olivia Cayenne<\/a>. You know I\u2019m not really a fan of long introductions, so let\u2019s jump right in.<\/p>\n

\"PhotoLet\u2019s start with the most important. What\u2019s your most recent\/next book, and where can we go to learn more about it and you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My teenage daughter and I have written two Young Adult Novels, Secrets Above<\/a> and Secrets Below<\/a>. They are the first two in a series of four. We have a FB page, Amy M. Ward & Olivia Cayenne<\/a>, and we also have a website, wardsarewriters.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Would you rather your book(s) be filmed for a movie, or a TV series?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would like to think that our books are good enough to be made into a movie. It would be nice if they were made into a movie because I know there are so many people that lack the ability to comprehend. My son has high functioning autism. He can read but cannot comprehend. All of his schoolwork is from videos because that is the only way he can comprehend. I would like for our books to become movies so he can enjoy them. However, I fear what Hollywood would do to our characters and plot.<\/p>\n

Can you read other things when you\u2019re working on a book, or do you have to stick with writing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I read while I write. What\u2019s more, I read multiple books while I write. I like to read at bedtime but I don\u2019t want the lamp to disturb my husband so I have a book on my Kindle that I read at bedtime. I always have a paperback in my purse so that I can read whenever I am waiting for my kids to finish whatever practice or rehearsal they are at. Then, I have a hardback in my reading nook that I like to sneak into whenever the chores are done and the kids are doing their schoolwork.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the first thing you\u2019d do if you won the lottery?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If I won the lottery, I would pay for my dad to get new knees. We haven\u2019t gotten to do nearly enough hiking together because his knees are failing him. He would get new knees and then he and I would go on a backpacking trip.<\/p>\n

What is one question you\u2019ve always wanted to be asked in an interview?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If I was to interview a successful author, I would want to know where their stories come from. So, I think that is what I would want to be asked. Mainly because I would like to compare answers. Maybe my stories don\u2019t come from the same place as theirs or in the same way…<\/p>\n
