Abducted by their sworn enemy, the Drahzda, Nya is forever altered and spirals out of control. The Society sends in Jax Nickius. Infamous psychologist and one of the most brutal warriors of their kind, he discovers triggers planted in Nya\u2019s mind. As Nya solidifies her spot in the Trials, Jax develops a plan to help her heal\u2014while pursuing her as a mate. But, Nya\u2019s attraction to Jax is at war with her instinct to never let anyone get too close.<\/p>\n

During the Trials, Nya\u2019s repressed memories surface, revealing a new enemy\u2014one from inside the consulate walls\u2014and a traitorous alliance on the horizon that could irrevocably change the course of history.<\/p>\n

Since before the Bronze Age, the Society has managed to safeguard humanity from itself \u2026 until now.<\/p>\n

Review<\/h2>\n

The Scythian Trials<\/em> was a fantastic read. I’m rather sad it isn’t the start of a series.<\/p>\n

Ms. Isaacs created a dynamic world with a rich culture that left me wanting to know more. I want to learn Xari’s fate and what happened with and to Nya’s Chosen.<\/p>\n

I’m also desperate to know if Nya’s eggs get recovered and what happens to Alexandra during, and as a result of, her downfall. Will Ike recover from his loss? Will Killian find someone with which to form an Intima<\/em> bond?<\/p>\n

Nya’s resurfacing memories left me feeling rather icky, enough to knock off a star, but that’s a personal preference.<\/p>\n

Overall, the story was phenomenal. I definitely recommend it to just about anyone, as long as torture isn’t a trigger.<\/p>\n
