Today the spotlight is on a writer of broken hearts, Vanessa M. Thibeault.\u00a0Let’s jump right in.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the most important. What\u2019s your most recent\/next book, and where can we go to learn more about it and you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you know how all of your characters look and sound?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My characters all have very distinct voices and looks. I talk to them and build them as though they were real people. Sometimes I take characteristics from friends, family and acquaintances, changing and playing with physical characteristics and mannerisms. As I write, the scene becomes like a scene from a movie, playing out in my head or as though I am watching it happen in life. Even when I write in third person, I view my characters from a third person viewpoint.<\/p>\n

Do you drink coffee\/tea? Do you find you drink more coffee\/tea when you\u2019re working on a book?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I drink both but it depends on the day. When I am writing, I tend to stay up later and love a 3pm coffee (and often a couple to start my day with only a few hours of sleep). I drink tea throughout the day and into the evening, but I tend to forget about it and then I find it cold. That\u2019s where the wine comes in!<\/p>\n

Does what you\u2019re writing at any given time ever feature in your dreams?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes I dream of what I am writing, but more accurately, I dream what I\u2019m going to write. Many of my ideas for books and scenes come directly from dreams I have had.<\/p>\n

Did you have a security blanket as a child?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t have a security blanket, but I did have an old Curious George that I found in a barn next to some old dynamite with my parents when I was about 4. He has a red hat and shirt and the words \u2018Curious George\u2019 are printed (were printed) in gold lettering on the front. He went everywhere with me and I still have him. He\u2019s sitting on top of the bookshelf behind my desk in my office.<\/p>\n

What is one question you\u2019ve always wanted to be asked in an interview?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why do you write?<\/p>\n
