When Lizzy Bennett arrives at Hunsford Parsonage, she\u2019s unacquainted with the less civilized side of pleasure. But Lizzy isn\u2019t someone who\u2019s easily intimidated. Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pride, Prejudice & Wicked Pleasure<\/em> (PPWP<\/em>) was OK. The new portions of the story were pretty good, but there was just so much of the original Pride and Prejudice<\/em> transcribed into this story. I found myself skipping over multiple sections because I’ve read Pride and Prejudice<\/em> enough times to know exactly what was written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I needed to go back and re-read several passages as well. In what I’m assuming was an attempt to capture Jane Austen’s writing style, the author utilized a plethora of lengthy sentences that made several sections of the story difficult to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was somewhat disappointed that the titillating passages were curtailed in the second half. Considering “Wicked Pleasure” is in the title, I expected it to be a more significant\/consistent part of the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last, but not least, I felt Abby Trenwith was woefully underutilized in the latter half of the book. She had such and important role in the first half that I found it odd for her to be nearly excluded from the second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can’t say that I disliked PPWP<\/em>; it wasn’t bad. But it didn’t live up to my hopes for the story. My feelings for it can best be described as “meh.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
