I hate the rock star, but he\u2019ll make me learn to love him\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joss Myers is a gorgeous rock star jerk and my celebrity crush. I never thought he\u2019d notice me, not in a million years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let alone marry me in a stupid Las Vegas mistake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought I wanted him, at least until I became his wife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I know I hate him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s arrogant, conceited, self-centered, and a million other not-so-nice things. He\u2019s refusing to make this sham-marriage easy for me, and he thinks it\u2019s funny to watch me squirm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I want an annulment, I have to go on tour with him. He wants to keep me in his room like a trophy, ready and waiting for his every desire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Screw that. I\u2019m not going to be that bastard\u2019s plaything, even if the thought sends shivers down my spine… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He keeps putting his hands on my hips, his lips against my throat, his words in my ear: You\u2019re the rock star\u2019s wife now, sweetheart, better get used to it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there\u2019s more to this situation than I realized. The band is teetering on the brink of breaking apart, and Joss doesn\u2019t seem to care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All he wants is my body, and I\u2019m afraid that if he gets it, I\u2019ll never want to walk away again.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hating the Rock Star<\/em> (HtRS<\/em>) was a fun read. I really enjoyed it. The story was solid and the book was well-written. I think the evolution of Grace & Joss’ relationship was well-timed and believable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do have one complaint, though. Their bedroom scenes were steamy, downright kinky. And they both seemed to revel in what the other did and enjoyed. But none of it was really referred to outside the bedroom. I would expect Joss, especially, to make some references, or at least to think about Grace’s darker interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If nothing else, considering his playboy persona and love of sex, I’d expect him to consider it one more reason to keep her around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond that, ultimately, very small issue, I think HtRS<\/em> is a great book. I’d give it 4.5 stars if half stars were possible, but since they aren’t I’m OK rounding up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
