This will be a unique pen porn post. This material is nearly impossible to capture, but I’ve done my best. However, because capturing its full beauty proved illusive, I don’t have too many photos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some Backstory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Originally, I discovered William Shakour<\/a>‘s opal pens through Gourmet Pens’ Instagram post<\/a>. I think<\/em> she got hers from the first release<\/a> made by Twiss Pens<\/a>. I skipped the second, larger Twiss Pens release<\/a> because of the price. They’re expensive \u2014 more on that in a minute \u2014 and I didn’t have the funds to get one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No joke, the pens are definitely expensive. To be completely honest, I had decided not to buy one based on the price. Then, I did a bit of research and found out how expensive synthetic opal is in pen-sized quantities. At bare minimum, based on what I found, you’re looking at $300. Likely quite a bit higher, as I don’t think a single block would have been enough for a pen. Plus the price of making the pen. And on top of that, I don’t know how difficult or easy synthetic opal is to work with, so that could add additional cost. So, while still on the pricey side, it makes sense, and it’s definitely worth it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what changed my mind? Permies.world<\/a>. She had an opal pen made separately and shared a video<\/a> of it. The colors in that material are absolutely stunning. So, I turned on post notifications for William Shakour’s account. And, just a day after I did so, he posted the second and third batches<\/a> from Den’s Pens<\/a> and Black Robin Pens<\/a> respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think I was the first to buy one of the pens from those batches, the Ophelia model from Black Robin Pens. As of 6\/25\/22 at 6:50pm, there are still several pens available. If you want one, you’d better snap it up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pen Porn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In my opinion, the curves of the Ophelia model are perfect for this material. They provide extra surface area for the light to play across. You can see the entire rainbow in the material, depending on how you look at it. The polish is perfect, and the finials are pointy without being sharp. I don’t really have much else to say. Just enjoy the pretty pictures and videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
