When I got the email from Benu about the Forest Pond<\/a> \u2014 and Midsummer Night<\/a> \u2014 I immediately purchased it. I’d skipped the Petit Prince<\/a>, and I really wanted one of Benu’s hand-painted pens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bottom image is the reverse, not the side, I just had to unscrew the cap a bit so it would balance for the photo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The orange goldfish pop on the blue background<\/a>. And I appreciate the minimalistic \u2014 for Benu \u2014 approach with the shiny flakes. The flakes are holographic, and add a delightful touch, especially on the cap finial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love the contrast between the main body material and the cap band. That same contrast is continued with the section, which I find a nice touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know if the hand-painted bits are painted in a single layer or in multiple layers like this on Instagram<\/a>. Regardless, I love the goldfish and waterlily. And the little bubbles are fabulous touches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have to give Benu some extra points for having a single-start threads. So the large goldfish always lines up with the logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, I’m really happy with the Forest Pond. It’s a gorgeous pen. The colors are great. The painting is well done. It’s definitely very Benu, in the best way. 10\/10, would recommend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
