I have something a little different for you today. Usually when I share pen porn, it’s a pen I own. This pen, however, belongs to my husband Jim (AKA Pensloth<\/a>). He picked up the Be Brave<\/a> pen last week, and \u2014 points to Gourmet Pens Shop<\/a> for super-speedy international shipping \u2014 it arrived yesterday<\/a> (9\/19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Pen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Be Brave<\/a> is exclusive to Gourmet Pens Shop<\/a>. I believe Azizah \u2014 AKA Gourmet Pens \u2014 designed it. Rather than tell you about her description, I’m including it here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This green beauty reminds me of the color of the Body Brave<\/a> logo. Body Brave is a non-profit organization that saved and changed my life. They are an incredibly deserving organization, helping those struggling with eating disorders. This special pen has “gourmet pens” on the center band and the Gourmet Pens ink splat logo on the fine nib. It’s a lovely writer and fits the hand well. Most importantly, a portion of each pen sold will be donated directly to Body Brave. <\/p>

This pen fills by a standard international cartridge\/converter (converter is included).<\/p>

I named it Be Brave, because it takes so much to fight for yourself and to look out for others. Be Brave. For yourself. For Body Brave. For me.<\/p>

Mini Review<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As the Be Brave only arrived yesterday afternoon, I can’t give a detailed review. However, I’ve held it, photographed it, and written with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Be Brave is well balanced and very pretty for such a simple pen \u2014 simple as in there aren’t any major bells or whistles. The nib was smooth and wrote well. It was slightly drier than I like \u2014 although not unpleasantly so \u2014 but Jim inked it with a new ink from a brand I’ve never used before, so that could have been a part of the dryness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, I like the Be Brave, and I’m happy we have one. I can heartily recommend it, as it’s a great pen, not just for the super-reasonable price, but in general. On top of that, it’s benefiting a organization with a great mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To start, I 100% agree that this pen is a beauty, but I’d call it teal, perhaps even turquoise, more than green. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The material is absolutely gorgeous, with swirls of shimmer that add a fantastic depth. As you can see, it’s slightly translucent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
