This particular pen was a commission from Analog Notes<\/a>. After getting my pen with Chrysanthemum<\/a> petals last year, it occurred to me that this, finally, was an excellent use for some dried petals I had saved.<\/p>\n\n\n

Late last year, I reached out to the lovely husband-and-wife team of Analog Notes and Once Upon a Blank<\/a>. I wanted to find out if they could create a custom pen using some very special \u2014 precious \u2014 petals.<\/p>\n\n\n

Sara was enthusiastic about creating a custom blank and walked me through options for inclusions. I skipped glitter and opted out of glow-in-the-dark powder since my chrysanthemum pen glows. I agreed on adding color, and chose purple-to-pink color changing powder. She offered gold, silver, or bronze flakes and shimmer, all of which I left as maker’s choice.<\/p>\n\n\n

Once I saw these colors, the choice was easy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Sara warned me that she’d need to crush the petals somewhat, which I OK’d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From that point, it was just a matter of sending the petals to Sara and waiting for my turn on their list around the holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you saw my January pen purchases post<\/a>, you already know my pen was completed in January. Sara and Ronnie did a great job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see in the video, the purple is heat reactive, changing to pink as it warms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
