Those of you who have been here for a while know I like the Benu Talisman model. So, when Azizah of Gourmet Pens told me she would have an exclusive Talisman, I was sold before I even saw the pen. When I saw it, I was at “shut up and take my money” levels of interest. The delightfully ostentatious True Unicorn is a smorgasbord of color and sparkle — and not for the faint of heart or those who delight in minimalism.
There are two kinds of shiny material in the True Unicorn. One seems to be small, silver coils. The other is an iridescent material chopped into random pieces. They each catch light in different ways.
As an ADHDer, the True Unicorn is mesmerizing. I can easily get lost in the play of light on the two different materials, just like Azizah in her video.
The seamless gradient from pink to pale blue is broken up by the teal cap band and section. For some reason I can’t fathom, this doesn’t bother me. Rather, I find it very pretty.
Overall, it’s a fantastically colorful and sparkly pen.
