Jim bought his first Gioia pen well over a year ago, and has really enjoyed having it in his collection. However, until the Cameo Edition was released, their library of models hadn’t really called to me.

I’ve always been a fan of cameos, and the ones on the Cameo Edition are, to my untrained eye, rather well done.

The beautiful art is complemented by the swirly, ivory material.

The only problem with the ivory material is that it makes the barrel engraving rather hard to read. I thought I had pen number 18 until I took and edited this photo.

I darkened this photo significantly to make the engraving stand out more.

This particular edition has a 14K gold nib, but, to be honest, I would have been just as happy — maybe happier — with a gold-plated steel nib and a lower price.

One thing I have no doubts about is that the Cameo Edition is a truly elegant pen.

It’s a lovely, and somewhat unique, addition to my collection.

Thank you for reading until the end. Do you own any pens from Gioia? If so, which one(s)? If not, what do you think of the Cameo Edition? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.

We have their Partenope pens which are really awesome. I am in love with those cameo pens. I would so love to own one but the price is a bit much for me. If they offered afterpay of some sort so I could break up the cost a bit that would help but they don’t.

    • I’m with you. It’s a significant up charge for those gold nibs, and I don’t feel they add anything, unfortunately.
