A Break and A Favor

Posted in Cat, and Personal

I questioned writing this post because it seemed a bit over the top. But, this is my blog, and I can write about whatever I want.

Also, I could use a chance to write something easy. The recent Athena posts have been exhausting. The posts about her illness and FIP, especially, each required hours of research to turn veterinary and diagnostic reports into something understandable.

However, they are also the posts I’m the proudest of. This is the first time I’ve needed to dive deep into a rabbit hole I didn’t really understand and make the recovered information understandable to as many as possible. I enjoyed the research, and I think I did a creditable job with the writing. Now, however, I need a bit of a break from heavy topics. I have one more Athena-centric post in this batch, then I can relax some. Expect to see fewer and simpler posts for a little bit.

With that out of the way, I have a favor to ask.

A Favor

I never do this, but I ask that you please share Athena’s tag page with as many people, or in as many places, as you can. FIP is a terrible disease, and I’m hoping these posts will help others so that they don’t have to do hours of research to find this information. As a reminder, my blog is unmonetized, so I don’t get anything when people visit. Many people helped Jim and me with Athena. I can’t possibly help everyone monetarily, but I can compile my research, make it digestible, and share it far and wide to help others.

My audience, though large to me, is small in the grand scheme of things; just a drop in the ocean, really. However, the more Athena’s story — or, more specifically, the FIP information contained in the posts about her — is shared, the more likely it will reach someone who can benefit from it. It also starts a self-perpetuating cycle. More visits and link shares lead to higher placement in search engine results, which leads to more visits and link shares.

I thank you in advance for helping share this information.

Thanks for reading to the end, I appreciate it. Have you read any of my Athena-centric posts? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.

Make sure to subscribe to my blog or follow me on Instagram so you don’t miss any posts. I generally post at least once a week.
