Well, after about three years of eyeing Drewnem Pisane‘s pens, I finally bought one. Luckily for me, they were at this year’s DC Pen Show and I was able to snag one of their floral pens. It’s absolutely stunning, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s another one or two in my future.

As always, let’s start with the 360° view.

The Flowers

First off, Kamila and Marcin chose phenomenal flowers to mix together. The blues and oranges set each other off so nicely, with the bits of tan-colored plants helping to keep the color scheme from getting overwhelming. The specks of silver are also a nice touch.

I’m sure plenty would disagree with me, but I like that the insides aren’t polished. It reminds me of a misty fall day, just as things are starting to die. Morose, perhaps, but I love fall and winter, so a perfect evocation for me.

Cap

The cap has a slightly more appealing — to me — cluster of orange to set off the cluster of blueish florals right at the finial.

Barrel

The… daisy(?)… in the barrel material helps add to the end-of-summer vibe I mentioned earlier. It feels a little like the florals are suspended in ice, like the last blooms got caught in a sudden temperature change.

Final Thoughts

I’m so happy to finally add a Drewnem Pisane pen to my collection. It’s so pretty and so well-made. And look at that fabulously complementary section material!

That’s a fantastic pen! Great photos too. I agree that the frosted finish on the inside is perfect.
