The Playful Paws is an exclusive to Benu’s online store, and is available at the time of writing.

There is so much to love on the Playful Paws! I’m going to get my one — minor! — criticism out of the way first. I wish there were cats on the cap, too. OK, now on to the pen porn!

As always with a pen like this, we start with the 360° views.

Now, on to the materials. I enjoy the shimmer in the main turquoise material. The almost Pepto Bismol pink is a bit bright, but it clearly didn’t stop me from buying the pen.

I love the silver tying everything together, from clip, to logo, to outlines, to nib. It’s a great touch.

The Kitties

The execution of each cat painting is excellent, and I think the only way to do them justice is to devote a section to each.

Orange Tabby

The poor orange tabby has an empty bowl, and is perplexed by this.

Calico

The paw prints from the empty bowl lead us to the calico. But, the calico, too, has an empty bowl and is similarly vexed.

Gray Tabby

Following the paw prints from the calico’s bowl, we then find the true culprit, a fat gray tabby who is snoozing away on a cozy pillow without a care in the world. Interestingly, the gray tabby’s bowl is full. I guess stealing other kitties’ food is better than eating your own.

And, excuse me, I have to dedicate a photo to my favorite part of the pen.

The Playful Paws is a delightful part of my Benu hand-painted collection.

Love your review! I agree on all review points, incl. no cats on the cap. Now I appreciate the cats’ food “story”, which I had never thought about. As a cat lover, I grabbed this pen as soon as I saw it and have zero regrets. An aside: This BENU was the 1st one (out of 9) that I had a problem with (the nib). However, the BENU Customer Support was just outstanding! Never had a better CS experience. BENUs are awesome pens!! Great review, Rachel.
