My original thought with this post was to revisit a single tag post and answer all of the questions a second time. But, as I looked through the various posts, I realized that many of my answers haven’t changed.
So, instead, I pulled out questions where my answers actually have changed from a variety of posts I hope you like this little redux.
The Fountain Pens Tag (9/14/21)
This post was based on The Eyeshadow Tag from the beauty side of YouTube.
1. What is your newest fountain pen?
Original Answer
At the time of writing (9/5/21) my newest pen is the Retro 51 Wings of the Monarch fountain pen.
I decided not to get the rollerball version last year, and regretted it. So, when a fountain pen version was released a few days ago, I jumped on it. No regrets here. It’s stunning, and I already did a Makeup Monday look with it.
New Answer
I have two newest pens. They arrived on Wednesday (3/19), and I haven’t even had a chance to take my own pictures yet. So, borrowing from the crowd funding campaign, here are my two Stanford Pen Studio Intwana models:

There will be pen porn posts soon.
6. What is your most colorful fountain pen?
Original Answer
I think this one goes to the Herbert Pen Company x Papier Plume New Orleans Tricentennial limited edition.
This was my first truly Indie pen. It was gorgeous, and I managed to get number 19. Now I make sure it’s in use for every Mardi Gras.
I almost chose the Retro 51 Calaveritas for this one, but then I remembered that I’m only doing fountain pens. There’s another that could tie for this one, but it’s on here later, so I skipped it for now.
New Answer
This has definitely changed. I don’t think it’s possible to get more colorful than my Loft Pens Glenwood Stacked Pride.

13. What is your favorite fountain pen from your favorite brand?
Original Answer
Unlucky 13. Well, this one is 100% impossible for me to answer. I simply don’t have a favorite brand.
New Answer
I wasn’t able to answer this one last time. However, I think it’s fair to say that Stanford Pen Studio is my favorite brand now. And, my favorite pen, for obvious reasons, is my Bumbledore pen.

21 Questions: Fountain Pen Edition (12/20/21)
This post was based on 21 Questions: Makeup Edition, also from the beauty side of YouTube.
7. What is your most recent pen purchase?
Original Answer
Basing off of when I paid for the purchase, my Stacked Pride pen from Loft Pens.
New Answer
This isn’t a repeat! The Intwana pens were a gift from my dad purchased in November. My most recent pen purchase was my vintage Esterbrook LJ Green “Icicle” at BWIPS.
12. What ink color family do you own the most of?
Original Answer
According to Airtable, Teal & Turquoise at 36 bottles. But that’s likely due to Jim’s obsession with those colors.
New Answer
Only counting bottles, Airtable tells me it’s purples at 36, with greens as a close second at 34. I should mention, I count purples and blurples (blue-purples) separately. I also count teal and turquoise separately now; if I didn’t, they’d tie for second with greens.
18. What brands have you wanted to try, but haven’t?
Original Answer
I’ve wanted to try a Stanford Wood Studios pen as I mentioned in my wish list post. Their beaded pens are so cool. I just haven’t gotten to them yet. And Hooligan pens, for their mix of materials and engraved metalwork, also mentioned on my wish list.
New Answer
Drewnem Pisane, but they are on my list for the summer. How early in summer depends on when my current commissions are completed.
The Fountain Pen Tag Round 2 – Nibs (3/11/22)
This post was based on The Palette Tag Round 2, still from the beauty side of YouTube.
6. Fave Nib Grind
Original Answer
As of now, my favorite grind is the cursive italic. I enjoy the crispness, the bit of personality, it gives to my writing. However, I think the oblique may overtake the cursive italic. I’ve put it in an “always inked” pen, after all.
New Answer
I clearly knew this was coming. I’ve you’ve been here a while, you already know my favorite grind is an italic oblique. So, technically, not a completely different grind than my previous favorite.
10. Newest Nib In Your Collection
Original Answer
After seeing one on the Goulet Nation Facebook group, I bought a ZT5E from Flexible Nib Factory, a TWSBI housing for a Zebra G flex dip nib. I really enjoy the Zebra G, so I look forward to using it. It only arrived a couple of days ago, so I haven’t had a chance to really use it yet.
New Answer
I wrote this answer with it. My last nib appointment at BWIPS was with Kirk Speer (Pen Realm) for an italic oblique. It’s delightful.
8 Pen Questions (4/10/23)
Hey, this one isn’t from beauty YouTube! This post was a response to Liane Likes‘ questions.
4. Are there inks & pens that you have yet to try but would like to?
Original Answer
I would love to try a Platinum Hammered Silver pen because it has a platinum nib, and I haven’t tried one. But, $900+ is too much to just try a nib.
New Answer
Jim got me a vintage Platinum Platinum, so I have a platinum nib now. But, to answer the question, I plan to eventually try all of the Colorverse and Wearingeul inks through samples, but I’ve got a long way to go for that.
I’m also interested in trying the Colorverse Shuttle and Tom’s Studio One-Dip-Nib to see how they compare to the Kakimori metal nibs
6. How many pens do you currently own?
Original Answer
Well, 163. Of those, 141 are fountain pens and 135 are in active use. The other 6 are decommissioned.
New Answer
I currently own 193 pens. But that doesn’t really tell the full story
- 166 of them are my “active collection”
- 145 are in active use
- 7 are in review to possibly sell
- 12 are retired, but kept for sentimental or collectability reasons
- 1 is decommissioned
- 1 is my “vacation” pen, only used for travel
- 27 of them are not in my possession or on their way out
- 1 is out for aftermarket customization
- 4 are with Jim
- 22 are for sale
17 Ink Questions (2/23/24)
This post was a response to Lisa at OliveOctopus.ink‘s questions.
5. Do you use inks for anything other than writing?
Original Answer
Very rarely. I’ve been trying to play with ink more. To that end, I recently picked up a couple of the Sailor Dipton pens to give myself an easier way to play with ink.
New Answer
I do now. I’ve been doing a lot more art, especially for ink comparisons. I’d still like to do even more and hope to make that a reality as my inspiration comes back.
11. What is the most unique ink you’ve used or seen?
Original Answer
DeAtramentis Mahatma Gandhi is pretty unique in that it turns neon green the moment it touches water. And Wearingeul White Rabbit is the only ink that I can think of that shades to gray, rather than from gray to something else.
New Answer
Perhaps Birmingham Pen Co Gunpowder Tea. Since it’s been discontinued, I keep looking for a dupe, but have yet to even come close.
What do you think of this kind of “redux” post? Do you think your answers have changed? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
