I first saw/learned of the Rainforest at the St. Louis Pen Show. And, being weak-willed, that’s also where I bought it. OK, to be fair to myself, I bought it at the show because I didn’t know if they’d last until the DC Pen Show. I love that it has a sloth, of course, and that a portion of the proceeds from each sale are donated to the Rainforest Trust.
What really pushed me over the edge from “just looking” to “I’m buying it” was the finial. The tree frog is so cute!

I also love the contrast of the black background with the green leaves and colorful animals.

Amongst the leaves, there are 12 animals. I’ve included photos below, comparing photos of the species I think each is with the art on the pen. In order, they are:
- a spider monkey
- a rainbow lorikeet
- a blue crowned motmot
- a green tree frog
- what looks like an eclectus, but the colors are wrong
- a toucan
- an Amazon parrot
- a blue and gold macaw
- a three-toed sloth
- a yellow-banded poison dart frog
- a leopard
- a strawberry poison dart frog

What do you think of the Rainforest? Have you bought one? Do you plan to? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
